The Hyundai i30 is a small family car produced in 2007 by the Hyundai Motor Company. The i30 shares its platform with Kia Cee’d, available as a five-door hatchback or estate, with a choice of three petrol and two diesel engines, either with manual or automatic transmissions. Available models are in Classic Comfort, and Premium. Specifically designed and developed for Europe, the Hyundai i30 is a stylish model that will blend seamlessly into the C-segment, the biggest market for cars in Britain. You can match the i30 with the very best in its class.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Hyundai i30 now takes Hyundai to a new level in the family car category and is capable of matching anything in its class in terms of packaging, quality, driving dynamics, safety, style and image. All i30 models features include front fog lights, remote locking, glove box cooling, electrically heated door mirrors and a trip computer. Once you get behind the wheel, you’ll immediately feel in control and at one with the car. Soft touch plastics on the dashboard and distinctive seat facings on each model enhance comfort to give both driver and passengers a luxurious experience. The i30′s cool blue illuminated instrument lighting not only gives a contemporary feel – it has the added benefit of reducing eye strain. Easily adjustable steering column and dashboard controls sit right at your fingertips, making for a comfortable and convenient drive. It’s an experience made even better by the ergonomically positioned, fully integrated audio system and air conditioning controls in the main console.

Interior space is maximized with one of the longest wheelbases in its class, a wide track and tall roofline. Five occupants can sit with comfort plus above average occupant space with generous, easy access luggage space. A useful and fully useable 885mm length, 1,040 mm width and 558mm height in the luggage area gives an impressive 340 liters load volume with the rear seats upright. When the rear seats are folded flat, the load volume increases to 1,250 liters.

The Hyundai i30 offers a range of newly developed engines. At the entry-level, a new 109 PS 1.4 liter petrol engine offers a combination of strong fuel economy and spirited performance. Diesel is now more relevant to the C-segment than ever before. And the Hyundai i30 has a choice of two state-of-the-art units offering exactly what today’s drivers demand of a diesel car -superb performance matched with excellent economy. All the diesel units feature Hyundai’s Variable Geometry Turbo-charging (VGT), low friction balancer shaft technology and high-pressure common rail diesel injection for minimized noise, vibration and harshness. Five and six-speed manual gearboxes and a four-speed automatic transmission are available, depending on the model. The auto is offered as an option with the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel variants, a real rarity in this class.

As a first for Hyundai, an Electronic Stability Program is fitted as standard to all models in the Hyundai i30, providing a real improvement in safety. The system assists the driver in the event that he or she is forced to swerve the vehicle, to avoid a collision for example, or if traction is lost when cornering. ESP helps to keep the vehicle headed in the intended direction where it might otherwise unavoidably slide, or worse, spin out of control. The anti-lock braking system features electronic brake force distribution, ensuring the stopping power is always distributed to the wheels with most grip. The twin front and front-side airbags plus full-length curtain airbags come as standard protection. There is also a switch for the front passenger airbag, so that a rear-facing child seat can be fitted in the front. In the rear of all variants there are two ISOfix child-seat mounting points. If the vehicle will be unavoidably hit from the rear, intelligent active headrests will help minimize the risk of whiplash injury.

The Hyundai i30 scored new global milestones for Hyundai, making its mark as a new challenger in the auto industry. In 2007, the i30 was hailed Australia’s Car of the Year at the 2007 CARSguide Car of the Year Awards—a historic first that a Korean-made car dominated the Land Down Under. In addition, the i30 was also voted CARSguide Green Car of the Year in Australia, emphasizing the turbo diesel’s remarkable fuel-efficiency and eco-friendly performance. From Australia, the i30 got its second Car of the Year award in Spain. And for the first time, yet again, an Asian car brand made it as Car of the Year, winning by a huge gap over its competitors.

Expect the Hyundai i30 to hold its value fairly well. Couple that with its relatively cheap initial purchase price and you’re on to a winner. Hyundai also offers a five year warranty with this, so you’ve nothing to worry about should something go pop.
